Fullagar Construction Skills Centre can offer you the opportunity to obtain a City & Guilds qualification in Plastering. The course will provide you with in depth training, during which time you will be assessed by our highly experienced, time served tradesmen. The entire City & Guilds process is completed here on site at Fullagar Construction Skills Centre which ensures the course is delivered using the correct procedures and without delay.
There are 7 Mandatory Units which you MUST complete, and complete 2 of the Optional 7 Units.
Mandatory Units are:
- 016 – Repairing a patch in a plastered wall
- 065 – Boarding and setting a ceiling in one coat
- 066 – Applying a floating coat to wall and attached pier
- 067 – Applying and finishing the setting coat to a floored wall and attached pier
- 068 – Applying a floating coat to a square or rectangular column
- 069 – Applying a floating finishing coat to a square or rectangular column
- 070 – Scrim and skim finish with plaster
Optional Units are:
- 017 – Screeding a sand and cement floor from a given level or datum point
- 018 – Introduction to fixing floor tiles and skirting tiles
- 071 – Applying a textured finish with border
- 072 – Replaster over textured ceiling using bonding agent
- 073 – Applying a plain rendering and finish with a wood float
- 075 – Fixing bellcast bead and applying scratch coats to wall areas
- 076 – Applying pebbledash finish to prepared wall

Who is this course suitable for?
This course is a must for anyone wanting to gain new skills or wanting a change of career.
How long are the courses and when do they take place?
The course is a 4 week duration – Mon – Fri 9.00am – 4.30pm. The courses run every 4 weeks consecutively.
The course is alternatively available over a duration period of 10 weekends.
Where are the courses held?
All courses are held on site at Unit 14 Lea Green Business Park, Eurolink, St Helens, WA9 4TR
What do I need to bring with me?
The only requirement is that everyone MUST wear safety boots/shoes. Other than this, just suitable clothing ie clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
