City & Guilds 6218 Level 1 Award/Certificate/Diploma in Basic Construction Skills
Fullagar Construction Skills Centre can offer you the opportunity to obtain an Entry Level 3 (8 Credits) and Level 1 Award (8 Credits) Qualification with progression onto a Level 1 Certificate (16 credits) and the opportunity to achieve a Diploma Level 1 (37 Credits)
If learners start with us in Year 10 and attend and progress as planned - they will be well on course to achieve a Diploma Level 1.
Fullagar Construction Skills Centre can also offer Apprenticeships for Maintenance Operations which will be attractive to Builders, Social Landlords and Housing Associations.

Schools Tutor
Wayne Brandon – Schools Yr 10/11 tutor is a highly experienced tradesman, having worked within the construction industry from leaving school. Wayne has worked on numerous building contracts including refurbishments, full house builds, small extensions and private dwellings. Wayne has also run many large contracts including National House Builders, 5 bedrooms luxury houses and public buildings undertaking many apprentices under his wing.
Wayne has reached the stage in his career where he wants to give something back to the industry, and is very keen to engage learners to develop their skills within their chosen trade, and is a valuable member of our team.

High Retention and Achievment Rates
We at Fullagars pride ourselves on the outstanding retention and achievement rates we achieve with our year 10 and 11 learners.
We work hard with all our learners to help them achieve their maximum potential and progress to fulfil their career ambitions.
In academic year 07/08 we had a 100% success and timely completion rate with a group of Year 10 learners
We had 6 distinctions and 6 credit passes for the Building Craft Occupations qualification with CAA (Construction Awards Alliance).
Setting out
Objectives:
Read and interpret construction drawings

Recognise symbols and abbreviations used in construction drawings

Mark out the outline of simple buildings

In academic year 07/08 we had 8 learners take a City & Guilds Level I qualification of which 6 learners passed with 100% timely completion.
In academic Year 08/09 we will have a 92% success rate with a 100% timely completion, with a group of Year 11 learners.
This qualification offers a taster in different trades including, brickwork, plastering, tiling and painting & decorating, giving the student the opportunity to choose which direction within the construction industry, they wish to take.
